Cost Effective Integrated Failure Analysis Process

There is a cost associated for each failure analysis that is performed on the various issues identified during the lifespan of a product. The more structured and efficient the process is for resolving those issues, the more profitable a company can be. The acronym FRACA (Failure Review and Corrective Action) is widely known by companies throughout the world, but rarely is incorporated into a seamless and integrated failure analysis process. This presentation summarizes and highlights the lessons learned during planning, development and implementation of such a process. It will cover both the positive and negative elements that occurred throughout the various phases of development and discuss the need of a world-class FRACA tool to be incorporated along with the process.

Key Words: FRACA, Reliability Data Management, Data Collection and Analysis
