Design for Reliability: Workbench
Enterprise Solution and Collaborative Portal
Design for Reliability (DFR) is an important design
philosophy that capital project teams in process/power/utilities industries are
increasingly adopting to design and build process plants and units that can support
long-term, sustainable and reliable operations. Approaches for minimizing capital
expenditures (CAPEX) or operational expenditures (OPEX) are rapidly shifting toward
Design for X strategies, especially where X = Reliability / Availability. This
presentation outlines the requirements and the necessary elements, tools and processes
to support a corporate-wide philosophy on DFR. Without enterprise-wide collaborative
processes, software tools and standardized approaches to support the capital project
teams, it is difficult to truly engender a corporate culture for this DFR program.
