Improving Organization
Competitiveness: How Quantitative Accelerated Life Testing Can Present a
Value Proposition
Accelerated life testing is often conducted within
industry, but with varying degrees of success. Due to the fact that product reliability
impacts an organization’s bottom line, it is important to accept that we have a
responsibility to our organizations to deliver accurate results on which management
decisions can be based. In order for the output of any accelerated life test to be
meaningful it has to be understood that this is not a stand-alone test, but rather a
key component within a more complex test protocol. This session will present a
refinement to the more traditional approaches. It utilizes a physics of failure based
approach, which improves result accuracy. Further, the presentation will show how the
outputs of an accelerated life test can be used to significantly reduce the duration of
reliability demonstration tests conducted on future products without any reduction in
confidence level, thus reducing time to market and increasing the organization’s
competitiveness.
