Analysis of Field Warranty in High Volume Manufacturing Industry

Field Warranty Data collected over several years for a particular component will be analysed using Weibull++ 7. Analysis of failures reveals several families of defects and milestones have been placed for improvements to the component based on root cause analysis. Data is then analysed using a like for like comparison method in order to quantify the improvements seen. This leads to a “proactive action” methodology in addressing field warranty issues with limited data. Discussions will be put forward to explain the families of defects and their impact on the overall life distribution model.
