Track 1 Session 9 An Appraisal of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises' Immersion into RCM Concepts and Practices in the Philippines This presentation will delve into the coping processes of small and medium industries of the Philippines with the demands of reliability philosophies and practices established internationally. The majority of the Philippine economy depends upon SMEs' without the SMEs' knowledge. In areas of manufacturing, trading, and services these prime movers of the economy survive using makeshift systems that work for them. The question now lies on whether their full potentials as business entities are realized with their makeshift systems of survival. Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) concepts and practices are mostly new and alien ideas to these SMEs'. Though effective in other industrialized countries, its applicability to the Philippine SMEs' has yet to be proven.
