Track 2 Session 6 Measuring Product Reliability from the Customer’s Perspective Product reliability has been a key customer requirement -- whatever industry the product belongs to. A common problem in industry is when the reliability experienced by the customer is lower, or even much lower, than what we demonstrated through prediction and/or in-house testing. The situation is even worse at the early stages of customer usage. Therefore, how to effectively measure the product quality and improve accordingly is becoming a very important topic for companies, especially in the case of severe market competition. This session will present two metrics to measure product quality from the customer’s perspective, with detailed explanation and some examples. This would be helpful to effectively track/improve the installed products’ reliability and also guide the next generation’s product design to raise the bar on product reliability.
