A Methodology for Rapid Component Life Data Analysis in the Airline Industry
Airline Fleet Managers and other financial decision makers require reliability and
cost-benefit data of sufficient quality in a timely and
consistent manner if they are to make appropriate maintenance decisions. Using Life Data Analysis (LDA) as the core element, this
presentation outlines the development of a Component LDA report template that is generated rapidly, in a useable format, to support
quantitative maintenance programme decisions. The standard report template has a number of sections, organized sequentially and populated
from a variety of reliability data and analysis sources. Each report concludes with a number of maintenance related recommendations based
on a cost-benefit analysis of the preventive to corrective maintenance ratio. The template is being developed as experience is gained in its
application to an increasing variety of components.
