Reliability Prediction Analysis of Fuel Cell Test Rigs

Rolls-Royce Fuel Cell Systems Ltd. is developing a hybrid Solid Oxide Fuel Cell system for distributed power generation. In order to achieve a representative large-scale testing capability, three new fuel cell test rigs are being designed, procured and commissioned. The test rigs will be capable of carrying out long-term durability testing (>10,000 hours) at representative conditions. They must also be delivered in a short time and with the lowest risk against predefined cost target. The primary purpose of the rigs is to allow durability testing of fuel cells at conditions fully representative of those seen in the product environment and without routine manning.
