Reliability 3.0: Synthesizing Reliability Activities
As reliability engineering evolves and matures, so do the emphasis and demands placed upon it. These demands are further amplified by both the "faster-better-cheaper" corporate mantra, and the ever-increasing complexity of today’s products. To meet these demands, an evolutionary shift toward a new interdisciplinary approach to reliability is required: one which leverages and re-engineers the proven classical activities in a way that (a) maximizes the benefit gained from each activity; (b) reduces time-to-market and associated costs; and (c) simultaneously maximizes the achieved reliability.
